Digha: The Shri Jagannath Temple at Digha was inaugurated today amid tight security. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the temple. The consecration ceremony or the ‘Pran Pratistha’ of the temple was held today. The architectural works in the temple are very well crafted. People from every religion have come here. After that, temple will be opened to the general public. People from every religion can visit the temple. It has been modelled after the Shri Jagannath Temple with the Kalinga style of temple architecture. It has been built using pink sandstone from Rajasthan. Over 800 artists from Rajasthan contributed in building the temple. Bhoga Mandap, Nata mandap, Jagamohan and Garbhagriha have been constructed similar to the 12th century Jagannath Temple in Puri. The Temple will be inaugurated today. However, one thing that differs from the Jagannath Temple is that non-Hindus and foreigners can also visit the temple.
