Annual celebration of Vasudha Project! An initiative of Hindalco for the betterment of agriculture and farmers .

Hirakud:(Correspondent):- The annual celebration of “Project – Vasudha” for the betterment of agriculture and farmers on behalf of Hindalco Hirakud, which is run by the BFI, was celebrated with great ceremony at the Jangha Linga ground in Nuayamda.  The conference was formally inaugurated by the Chief District Agriculture Officer, Sambalpur, Shri Hemant Kumar Jena and the Head of Human Resources, Hirakud Complex, Shri Biswas Shinde, who offered prayers to Maa Samaleswari and lit the lamp. The inaugural function was attended by Deputy Director Horticulture, Shri Sanjeev Kumar Bohidhar, Sub-Divisional Veterinary Officer, Shri Purushottam Mishra, Head of Environmental Development, Odisha Cluster, Hindalco, Shri Shiva Mahapatra, Assistant Horticulture Officer, Moushumi Sarpatia, Head of Environment, Hindalco Sambalpur Cluster, Shri Ranjan Kumar Jena, Head of Land and Corporate Affairs, Shri Bighneswar Panda, Superintendent of Agriculture, Dejaleen Maharana, Biswajit Parida, Environment Department, Sukant Kumar Mahapatra, Manager, Anand Chakravarthy, Additional Chief Executive Officer, Elivashe Rath B.E.F., Shri Vikrant Kumar. “Vasudha Project” is a project initiated by Hindalco.  An initiative launched by “BAIF”, a technical and renowned partner in the field, to increase farmers’ income by providing modern farming techniques. The project aims to involve all types of farmers and support them in traditional farming through integrated pest management, integrated vegetable gardening, nectarine and cassava cultivation, shade farming, poultry farming, goat farming, artificial insemination, milk production, biogas, farmers’ agricultural equipment storage and support to farmers through support centers within three years.  In this program, Sambalpur Chief District Agriculture Officer Shri Hemant Kumar Jena addressed the farmers and advised them to increase their annual income by utilizing the schemes launched by the government and congratulated Hindalco for improving farmers and agriculture through Hindalco Vasudha and requested them to expand this work. Deputy Director of Horticulture Shri Sanjeev Kumar Bohidar advised the farmers to take advantage of the schemes being run by the government and adopt new farming methods along with traditional farming such as “palm farming, nectarine, banana and other vegetable farming”. Sub-Divisional Veterinary Officer Shri Purushottam Mishra informed them about the benefits of the multi-beneficial schemes launched by the government by raising livestock such as chickens, goats, cows and the Chief Minister’s Kamadhenu Yojana and other beneficial schemes. Shri Biswas Shinde, Head of Human Resources of Hirakud Complex told the audience that Hindalco is working hard for the development of the region and this will continue.  There will be an exhibition of various types of traditional grain storage, summer soup and summer food and various types of fruits, flowers and plants in this annual festival. The guests released the annual activities of the Vasudha. In this meeting, prominent citizens of Hirakud village Shri Palav Panda, Shri Nattu Biswal, Shri Itua Khadia, Shri Yogeswar Pradhan, Shri Banamali Bhoi, Shri Deepak Bhoi, Shri Mohan Banachhor, Shri Biranchi Biswal, Shri Ajit Barik and more than 200 farmers attended this annual festival. To make this program successful, BFI Human Resources Head Mrs. Manisha Sahu, Shri Mufti Khan, Shri Purna Mohapatra, Shri Sarik Hassan, Shri Robin Khan, Mrs. Santoshini Dharua, Mrs. Nita Khadia and Mrs. Jayashree Rao from Hindalco Regional Development Department,  Shri Santosh Kumar Tripathi, Shri Saroj Kumar Acharya, and Shri Milan Kumar Sahu contributed.
