“Nurturing Young Talent, Empowering Future Champions”
Reinforcing its commitment to youth empowerment and inclusive development, NTPC Limited has announced the establishment of state-of-the-art Archery Academies in Mayurbhanj, Kendujhar, and Sundargarh districts of Odisha under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, in collaboration with the Sports and Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha.
The foundation stone for the Archery Academy at Naranpur in Kendujhar district was laid virtually on 29 April 2026 by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi. Earlier this year, the foundation stone for another academy at Rairangpur, Mayurbhanj, was laid by the Hon’ble President of India, Droupadi Murmu, on 4 February 2026.
The upcoming academy will feature modern indoor and outdoor archery ranges, advanced equipment, fitness and conditioning facilities, and professional coaching support. The initiative aims to nurture grassroots talent, especially among tribal youth, while preserving the region’s rich traditional association with archery.
The project is expected to transform Kendujhar into a major hub for archery excellence in northern Odisha and create opportunities for young athletes to compete at state, national, and international levels—reflecting NTPC’s commitment to community empowerment and holistic development.
