Kataka : The Choudwar Circle Jail escape case took a fresh turn, with Rajya Sabha MP Sujit Kumar levelling serious allegations against Director General (DG) of Prisons Sushanta Kumar Nath and Choudwar Circle Jail Superintendent Sujit Kumar Roul. The MP accused the two officials of facilitating the jailbreak and attempting to suppress the truth. Sujit Kumar Roul also alleged that the officials forged signatures and tampered with official documents following the escape. The Rajya Sabha MP submitted a written online complaint to Choudwar Police Station seeking action in the matter, claiming misuse of official positions. The incident dates back to 3 October 2025, when two Bihar-based criminals, Raja Sahani and Madhukant, escaped from Choudwar Circle Jail during the Dussehra festival. According to the allegations made by the MP, the Jail DG and the Choudwar Circle Jail Superintendent assisted the accused in escaping from the prison. He further alleged that official records were manipulated and forged signatures were used to conceal the facts surrounding the incident. The controversy earlier intensified after the then Jailer, Santoshini Das, lodged a written complaint with Choudwar Police Station accusing Senior Jail Superintendent Sujit Kumar Roul of forging official documents. Suspecting the involvement of both the Jail Superintendent and the DG of Prisons in the escape of the Bihar inmates, as well as in alleged large-scale irregularities within the prison department, Sujit Kumar has now filed an online complaint. However, no response was received from DG of Prisons Sushanta Kumar Nath, Choudwar Circle Jail Superintendent Sujit Kumar Roul, or the police regarding the allegations at the time of reporting.
