Cuttack: The Special Vigilance Court in Cuttack has officially rejected the bail plea of Bhimsen Tudu in the tragic death case of medical student Chandrika Hembram on Thursday. The court denied the bail taking into account the gravity of the accusations and the social impact of the case.On May 4, 28-year-old Chandraka’s body was recovered from under the Kathajodi Bridge in Cuttack.Acting on the complaint filed by the family of the medical student, the Barang police had arrested her boyfriend Bhimsen in connection with the case.Preliminary investigation reports suggested that despite their long-standing relationship, Bhimsen used to criticize Chandraka’s color and profession. The relationship become more strained after Bhimsen was found to have excessive contact with another woman.Similarly, a few days ago, the state government took strict action against Bhimsen Tudu, who was newly appointed as the Odisha Taxation and Accounts Service (OT&AS) officer. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi dismissed him from his government job. It was also said that Mr. Tudu would not be eligible for any other government job in future
