Alpha Box Office Collection Day 3: Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Starrer earns Rs 33.50 cr in First Weekend

Mumbai: The spy action drama ‘Alpha,’ starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in the lead roles, has concluded its opening weekend in India with a nett collection of Rs 33.50 crore. On first Sunday, the film managed to pull in around Rs 13 crore according to early estimates. This brings its domestic gross total to Rs 39.50 crore over the first three days of its theatrical run.On the international front, the Shiv Rawail directorial grossed over USD 1.7 million, which converts to approximately Rs 16 crore. Alpha has an estimated total of Rs 55.50 crore in the first weekend worldwide box office collection. The first sum is not seen as entirely enough for the Yash Raj Films project to make a smooth transition into a safe financial zone, given the high costs of making the film. However, given the special situation of its theatrical release, trade analysts feel this is a respectable and positive start for the action feature. Now the spy-thriller’s final box office fate depends on how well it can hold over the critical weekday stretch, starting with its Monday hold. As initial word-of-mouth has not been particularly favourable, Alpha runs the risk of turning out to be a disappointing venture for the production house if weekday collections take a steep nosedive. If it can keep up a steady pace through the week, it still has a decent shot at a respectable lifetime total.
