East Coast Railway has honoured Shri Ramdev Mandal, Track Maintainer-IV of Turekela Road under Sambalpur Division, with the Safety Award for his exceptional alertness and dedication towards ensuring safe train operations.While performing Hot Weather Patrolling duty on 25th May 2026, Shri Mandal detected a crack in the SEJ tongue rail at Km 154/30-32 on the Down Line at Turekela Road Yard. He immediately took necessary safety measures, stopped Train No. 58528 Visakhapatnam–Raipur Passenger and informed his supervisor in time, thereby averting a possible safety hazard.East Coast Railway commended his vigilance and commitment to safety, which reflects the strong safety culture and dedication of railway employees towards ensuring safe train operations.
