GIET University Organizes Three-Day FDP on Automation Challenges and Solutions Using Emerging & Convergent Technologies.

Gunupur:(Correspondent) :-The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) of GIET University, Gunupur, in association with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), inaugurated a three-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Automation Challenges & Solutions Using Emerging & Convergent Technologies (Level–I)” from 22nd to 24th June 2026. The programme is being organized on the occasion of the inauguration of the Research, Innovation and Incubation Centre at GIET University.The FDP aims to provide faculty members with comprehensive knowledge and practical exposure to emerging technologies that are reshaping modern industries and society. Designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry, the programme focuses on equipping educators with insights into contemporary automation challenges, technological innovations, and their real-world applications.Welcoming the participants, Dr. Bibhu Prasad, Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, highlighted the objectives of the FDP and emphasized its relevance in addressing the evolving needs of both academia and industry.Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Balakrushna Tripathy, Pro-Vice Chancellor, GIET University, elaborated on the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Computational Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Applied Mathematics in driving intelligent automation across various sectors. Prof. (Dr.) A. V. N. L. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, GIET University, reflected on the evolution of automation from the 1990s to the present era and discussed its multidisciplinary applications in education, research, and industry.Dr. Chandra Dhwaj Panda, Vice President, GIET University, encouraged the participants to actively engage in the sessions and make the most of the learning opportunities offered through the programme. Sharing industry perspectives, Dr. M. Satya Prasad, Deputy General Manager, BSNL, delivered an insightful address on emerging and convergent technologies, the growing significance of 5G communication systems, industrial requirements, start-up ecosystems, and the interdisciplinary scope of automation technologies.The FDP features expert sessions on a broad spectrum of contemporary topics, including Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Automation, Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics and Mechatronics, 5G and Next-Generation Communication Networks, Cyber Security and Data Protection, Industry 4.0, Digital Twin Technologies, and Innovation and Incubation Ecosystems. Through interactive sessions, technical deliberations, and knowledge-sharing activities, participants are gaining valuable insights into integrating these technologies into teaching, research, and industrial practices.The programme is supported by Kaumodaki NexusGrid and Protionix Technology Pvt.
