Keonjhar: In a devastating incident, a couple got killed in lighting strike in Rutisila village in Ghantagaon block in Keonjhar district. The deceased has been identified as Baneswar Nayak and his wife Sanulata Nayak According to reports, the husband wife were taking shelter in a makeshift straw house when the lighting struck on it. The lighting strike killed both of them at the spot.On being informed, the police reached the spot, seized the body and has kept them in the Keonjhar hospital.In a similar incident, a 35-year-old woman die due to lighting strike while resting under a mahula tree. The incident took place last month in Maharajpali village under Kalimela block of Malkangiri district. The woman died in the lightning strike.Thunderstorms and heavy rains continued in various parts of the state under the influence of the effect of Kalabaisakhi.
