Phulbani, June 6: Baliguda ITDA Assistant Engineer Baikuntha Nath Behera came under the Vigilance scanner on Saturday following allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. Vigilance officials conducted simultaneous raids at nine locations linked to the engineer across Bhubaneswar, Baripada, Dharmasala and Baliguda.The searches were carried out by a team comprising two Additional Superintendents of Police (Addl. SPs), five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), six Inspectors and other Vigilance personnel.According to Vigilance sources, the raids covered a four-storey building and a two-storey house at Chandrasekharpur in Bhubaneswar, a three-storey house at Sailashree Vihar, a two-storey house at Patia, his ancestral house at Dharmasala, residences of relatives in Baripada Town and near Dharmasala College, besides his office and official government quarters.The searches are part of an ongoing investigation into allegations that Behera amassed assets beyond his known sources of income.
