Jagatsinghpur: The District Administration of Jagatsinghpur on Saturday suspended a Junior Revenue Assistant of the Zilla Parishad after allegations of installation and use of a spy camera inside a women’s toilet at the Zilla Parishad office came to light.According to an official order issued by the Zilla Parishad, Jagatsinghpur, the employee, identified as Sanjay Adheka, has been placed under suspension with immediate effect based on prima facie evidence indicating his involvement in the incident.The order stated that preliminary findings suggest the installation and use of a spy camera in the ladies’ toilet, which amounts to a serious violation of the privacy and dignity of women and is punishable under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act, 2000.“Shri Sanjay Adheka, Junior Revenue Assistant of Zilla Parishad, Jagatsinghpur, is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect based on prima facie evidence and initial findings suggesting his involvement in the installation and use of a spy camera in the ladies’ toilet. Such an act amounts to a serious violation of the privacy and dignity (modesty) of women and constitutes a punishable offence under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act, 2000,” the order stated.The administration termed the incident as serious misconduct. The suspension order was issued by the Collector and District Magistrate, Jagatsinghpur, pending further inquiry into the matter.
