JSW Utkal Steel and JSW Foundation Launch Emergency OPD Service to Strengthen Healthcare Access Across Dhinkia, Nuagaon and Gadakujang Gram Panchayats

PARADIP: In a significant step towards strengthening rural healthcare infrastructure and ensuring timely medical assistance for people in surrounding communities, JSW Utkal Steel Limited and the JSW Foundation have launched an Emergency Outpatient Department (OPD) service at the Nuagaon Gram Panchayat office.
Under the leadership of Mr. Anil Kumar Singh, President, JSW Utkal Steel Limited, this initiative reflects the organisation’s continued commitment to community welfare and improving access to essential healthcare facilities across the Dhinkia, Nuagaon and Gadakujang Gram Panchayats.
Previously, residents of all three Gram Panchayats had to depend primarily on the Community Health Centre (CHC), Kujang, for emergency medical assistance and first-aid services during night hours. The absence of nearby night-time healthcare facilities often created difficulties for villagers in accessing timely medical attention, particularly during critical emergencies.
Recognising this long-standing demand of the local community, JSW Utkal Steel and the JSW Foundation have taken a significant step by establishing the  Emergency OPD service at the Nuagaon Gram Panchayat office to provide service to the communities of  all the three Gram Panchayats Dhinkia,Nugaon and Gadakujang. The facility will remain operational from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, providing emergency OPD consultations and first-aid services to residents during night hours. To ensure effective and timely medical assistance, the facility will be supported by a full-time MBBS doctor, a dedicated attendant and ambulance services throughout the night. This arrangement will enable patients to receive immediate medical attention and first aid at the facility. In cases requiring advanced medical intervention or further treatment, patients will be transported to CHC, Kujang, through the JSW Ambulance service. This initiative is expected to make a meaningful difference in emergency healthcare delivery by reducing delays in accessing medical assistance. Timely medical intervention and prompt transportation to the referral hospital can help prevent complications and potentially save many lives.
The service was formally inaugurated by the distinguished officials from JSW Utkal Steel Mr. Manoj Singh, Vice President of JSW Utkal Steel, Paradip, Mr. Mitrabhanu Chowdhury, Associate Vice President JSW Utkal Steel, Paradip, Mr. Abhijit Mohanty, CSR Head, JSW Foundation, Paradip in the presence of prominent community leaders and representatives from the three Gram Panchayats, Mr. Smruty Mantry, Mr.Jadunath Khatua Mr. Tamil Pradhan, Mr. Sampad Barik Mr. Kesab Rout, Mr. Ranjan Bardhan, Mr. Prabhat Rout, Mr. Prasant Lenka, Mr. Santosh Mohanty, Mr. Suresh Chandra Dash and other prominent local representatives and community members.
