Bhubaneswar: Rabindra Kumar Nayak, Forest Ranger of Kendrapada Forest Range, was arrested by the Odisha Vigilance on Thursday for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.According to the Vigilance Department, Nayak was placed under arrest and will be produced today before the Court of the Special Vigilance Judge in Cuttack. Searches conducted on his properties revealed possession of significant assets which he failed to explain satisfactorily.These include a palatial four-storeyed building measuring 7,038 square feet, another building, six high-value plots, 283 grams of gold, cash of Rs. 2.14 lakhs, bank deposits worth Rs. 76 lakhs, and one four-wheeler.A case has been registered against him at Kataka Vigilance Police Station (Case No. 25/2026) under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018. Investigation into the matter is continuing.
