Police in Kandhamala district recovered the decomposed body of Binod Bastia from a forest near Chandaniamunda village under Kantamal police limits on Thursday morning.Family members reported that Bastia had gone missing on June 16 after leaving home. Despite extensive searches in nearby areas, they failed to trace him and later lodged a missing complaint at Kantamal Police Station.On Thursday, villagers noticed a foul smell coming from the forest. Relatives searching the area discovered a decomposed body lying under a tree. They immediately informed police, who reached the spot and seized the remains.Officials confirmed that the body has been sent for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Investigators are examining circumstances surrounding Bastia’s disappearance and recovery.
