Security forces achieved a major breakthrough in Koraput district by recovering a large cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives from a Maoist dump in Badlipahad forest under Boipariguda Police Station limits. Koraput: In a significant breakthrough, security forces have recovered a large cache of arms, ammunition, and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from a Maoist dump in the dense forest area of Badlipahad under Boipariguda Police Station limits in Koraput district.Acting on specific information obtained from surrendered Naxals, the District Voluntary Force (DVF), Koraput conducted an intensive search operation in the forest bordering Bastar district of Chhattisgarh. The dump was unearthed around 5:30 am today.Items Recovered from the operation are 1 INSAS Rifle, 1 country-made gun, six Clamore Mines (approx. 18 kg), multiple tiffin bomb IEDs (approx. 10 kg and 4 kg), Maoist kit bag, Maoist literature and medicines and food items. The recovered materials are believed to belong to cadres of the Andhra-Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee (AOBSZC) and were likely intended for use against security forces and civilians.This successful operation comes as Koraput district is progressing towards its target of becoming completely Naxal-free by March 31, 2026. Between January 2025 and March 2026, one Naxal cadre was arrested and another surrendered in the district. Security forces, including the Special Operations Group (SOG), District Voluntary Force (DVF), and Border Security Force (BSF), are continuing regular combing and search operations in the area to prevent any possible resurgence of Maoist activities.
