Today, i.e., on 05.10.2026, a short while ago, Shaikh Rayaz Alli, Headmaster of a Govt. UP School under Balipatna Block, Dist-Khordha has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking a bribe of Rs.15,000/- from his predecessor ( Ex- Headmaster of the School) towards reimbursement of the expenditure incurred by the former headmaster under Mid-Day Meal (MDM) scheme for four months while awaiting allotment of funds.. As the ex- headmaster was relieved before the funds allotment & drawal of the amount, he requested accused Rayaz Alli to release the amount in shape of cheque as per Govt. guidelines. However, the accused demanded a bribe Rs.15,000/- from the complt to release the cheque. Being aggrieved by the demanded bribe, the complainant approached the vigilance authorities, following which, a team of Odisha Vigilance nabbed accused Rayaz Alli today while taking bribe Rs 15,000/- from the complt. The entire tainted bribe money Rs.15,000/- has been recovered from the possession of accused Alli and seized. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are being conducted by Odisha Vigilance at two locations linked to Rayaz Alli, headmater from DA angle. In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. Case No. 23 dtd. 03.09.2026 u/s 7 of the P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against the accused Shaikh Rayaz Alli, headmater.
