Baripada / Bhubaneswar , July 4, 2026: Reiterating the State Government’s unwavering commitment to providing a safe and permanent house to every eligible family, Housing and Urban Development Minister Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra today distributed work orders under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) – PMAY-U 2.0 to 61 beneficiaries at a special programme organised by the Baripada Municipality.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mahapatra said that ensuring a secure roof over the heads of poor and middle-class families in urban areas and improving their quality of life remain among the highest priorities of the Government under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha.
“The dream of owning a permanent house should become a reality for every family in the State. The Government is making concerted efforts to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out of the housing security net,” the Minister said.
Congratulating the 61 beneficiary families, he expressed confidence that their new homes would usher in happiness, dignity and a better quality of life.
The Minister further stated that the PMAY-U 2.0 initiative is playing a crucial role in accelerating inclusive urban development and socio-economic empowerment by ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the grassroots in a transparent and efficient manner.
The programme was attended by Baripada Municipality Chairperson Krushnanda Mohanty, Vice-Chairperson Simarani Das, Executive Officer Deviprasad Rout, councillors, senior municipal officials, local public representatives and the beneficiaries along with their family members.
