Rourkela: Jilted Lover Sets Girl’s House on Fire in Attempted Murder. In a shocking case of one-sided love, a youth attempted to kill a girl by setting her house on fire in Sundargarh district of Odisha. The incident took place in the Jaratola village under Santoshpur Panchayat of Bisra police station limits in Rourkela today.The accused has been identified as Rajat Kiro of Kinjrikela village.As per reports, Rajat was allegedly in love with Anju of Jaratola village. He had been trying to talk to Anju repeatedly, but she refused to interact with him.Enraged by the rejection, Rajat reached Anju’s house around 11:30 pm last night. While the family was asleep, he allegedly poured petrol and set the house ablaze.The entire house was gutted in the fire. Anju was rescued with burn injuries and first admitted to Rourkela Government Hospital. As her condition deteriorated, she was shifted to a private hospital in Rourkela for treatment.The family has filed an attempt to murder complaint at Bisra police station. Police have registered a case and started an investigation. The accused is currently absconding and police have launched efforts to arrest him.
