Rourkela: South Eastern Railway is observing the Swachhata Hi Seva-2026 campaign from September 17 to October 2, 2026, with emphasis on collective participation, cleanliness, environmental sustainability and shared responsibility. The campaign is being undertaken with the theme “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag; Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat”, encouraging railway employees, passengers, Safai Mitras, students, youth and other stakeholders to actively participate in cleanliness initiatives across South Eastern Railway.As part of the Swachhta He Sewa programme, Shri Anil Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Eastern Railway, interacted with students of BNR Railway School, Jharsuguda in Chakradharpur Division on 17.09.2026 under the “Swachhta Se Samvad” initiative. The discussion focused on waste segregation, environmental protection and tree plantation. He also presented certificates to students who secured positions in competitions held on the inaugural day of Swachhta Pakhwada.In SER Headquarters, Garden Reach, many activities are being organised. Awareness and demonstration sessions was organised on Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026 and 4-way source segregation for children at Sanghamitra Vidyalaya, Garden Reach on 17.09.2026. Interactions and debates on rainwater harvesting, solid waste management, source segregation, water conservation and cleanliness were also organised at Sanghamitra Vidyalaya on Swachhata Evam Jal Sanchay Samvad abhiyan. Kharagpur Division is observing the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign with a series of cleanliness, awareness, educational and community engagement activities across railway stations, schools, institutes and railway colonies. Awareness sessions on Solid Waste Management Rules 2026 and four-way waste segregation are being conducted for staff, passengers and students. Under “Swachhata Gyan Yatra,” students are visiting railway facilities such as ETPs, bio-toilet plants, water recycling plants and coach washing lines. “Swachhata Evam Jal Sanchay Samvad” and Nukkad Nataks at Kharagpur and Hijli stations were also organised to promote cleanliness and responsible waste management.
