Bhubaneswar, October 6, 2026: Reaffirming the commitment towards cleanliness, hygiene and collective responsibility, a special cleanliness drive and Shramdaan was organised at Kharavel Bhawan, Bhubaneswar, today as part of the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026 campaign. The programme was organised under the ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’ initiative, with the active participation of senior officers and staff working in various departments functioning from Kharavel Bhawan. The participants voluntarily contributed their time and effort to clean the office premises, common areas and the surrounding campus. The programme also sought to reinforce the message that cleanliness should not remain confined to special drives but should become an integral part of everyday life. As part of the programme, the participating officers and staff took a Swachhata pledge, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining clean and hygienic surroundings and adopting responsible sanitation practices in their daily lives. The collective participation reflected the spirit of ‘Whole of Government’ and highlighted that maintaining cleanliness is a shared responsibility. Sustained cleanliness can be achieved only through regular efforts, responsible behaviour and active participation by all sections of society. The Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign is being observed from September 17 to October 17, 2026, with the objective of strengthening public participation in cleanliness and sanitation activities and promoting a lasting culture of Swachhata across the country. The Shramdaan at Kharavel Bhawan reaffirmed the collective resolve of the participating officers and staff to carry forward the message of cleanliness beyond the campaign period and contribute towards creating cleaner, healthier and more sustainable workplaces and communities.
