Paradeep : Dr. U.S. Awasthi, Managing Director of the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative
Limited (IFFCO),New Delhi during his visit to Paradeep Unit in Odisha met Sh Mohan
Charan Majhi, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Sh Manoj Ahuja, IAS, Hon'ble Chief
Secretary of Odisha and Sh Sampad Charan Swain Hon'ble Minister of State for
Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education, Odisha along with Sh K. J.
Patel, Director &Unit Head, IFFCO Paradeep Unit.
In his discussions with the Hon'ble Chief Minister, Dr. Awasthi emphasized IFFCO's
contributions to Odisha's agricultural sector, focusing on the production of patented
IFFCO Nano Fertilisers, DAP, and Urea Fertilisers. He also highlighted the Paradeep
Unit's significant role in India's food security.
Dr. Awasthi's meeting with Chief Secretary Shri Manoj Ahuja centered on IFFCO's new
investments and ongoing projects in Odisha, including the construction of a Sulfuric
Acid Plant, Nano Fertiliser Plant, and River Jetty at Paradeep. He also proposed the
development of a new Metro Rail to improve commuting facilities between Cuttack &
paradeep. Additionally, Dr. Awasthi discussed the establishment of a modern hospital in
Paradeep, funded and operated by industries, to enhance healthcare facilities for the
local community.
In his meeting with Shri Sampad Chandra Swain, Dr. Awasthi extended his
congratulations and felicitations. The discussions covered various development
initiatives for Paradeep, including the ongoing projects at the IFFCO Paradeep Unit and
the proposed community-supporting establishments such as the industry-funded super
speciality Hospital and new Metro Rail.
Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Awasthi said, "We are thankful for the support and interest
shown by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, and Minister of State in IFFCO's
efforts and upcoming projects. These initiatives are aligned with our commitment to
ensuring fertilizer availability and contributing to the nation's development and

across the country.
