Two KISS Students in Indian Team for Women’s Baseball Asian Cup Qualifier – 2025.

Bhubaneswar :In a moment of immense pride for the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Bhubaneswar, two of its students Ms. Deepa Majhi and Ms. Dharitri Singh have earned the honor of representing India in the upcoming Women’s Baseball Asian Cup Qualifier – 2025. The prestigious tournament is scheduled to take place in Bangkok, Thailand from 23rd to 29th April 2025.

As part of their preparation, the Indian Women’s Baseball Team underwent a rigorous final coaching camp at Sangrur, Punjab from 2nd to 20th April 2025.

The participation of Deepa and Dharitri in this international tournament marks a significant milestone not only for KISS but also for the state of Odisha, showcasing the growing potential of tribal and rural youth in global sports arenas.

In the Group A stage, India will face: Pakistan on April 23, Sri Lanka on April 24, Iran on April 25. In Group B includes Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, and host country Thailand.

Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT, KISS, and KIMS, expressed immense pride in their achievement. “This is a proud moment for Odisha as well as KISS. I wish them great success and urge them to give their best to bring glory to the nation,” he stated.

Mr. Sibananda Pradhan, General Secretary of the Odisha Baseball Association (OBA), & Mr. Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, Former President, OBA also extended his heartfelt congratulations to the young athletes, praising their dedication and perseverance, and wishing them continued success in their sporting journey.

Both the athletes expressed deep gratitude, stating, “We are deeply grateful to Prof. Achyuta Samanta Sir, for his unwavering support and guidance. His vision and commitment to nurturing sports have provided us with the platform to achieve our dreams. We dedicate this success to the incredible mentorship and encouragement we have received at KISS.”
