Baripada, September 28, 2026: Three talented students of Purnachandrapur Government Upper Primary School — Debashish Giri, Saroj Singh and Deb Telenga — have been selected to participate at the state level in various competitions, bringing pride to their school, block and district.
At the district-level Seva Sankalp Abhiyan-2026 drawing competition, organised at MPK Girls’ High School in Baripada, Class VIII student Debashish Giri, a resident of the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Residential Hostel attached to Purnachandrapur Government Upper Primary School, secured first place and qualified for the state-level competition.
Similarly, Deb Telenga of the hostel was selected for the state-level Kabaddi competition following his performance at the district level.
In the district-level Rugby competition, both Deb Telenga and Saroj Singh were selected to represent the district at the state level. Purnachandrapur Government Upper Primary School also emerged as the district-level Rugby champion.
The residential hostel located on the school campus operates under the district administration of the state government. It works towards bringing orphaned children, school dropouts and children who have never attended school into the mainstream of education. The hostel has also undertaken various initiatives to identify and develop the hidden talents of children and help them establish themselves in society and life.
Headmaster Saumya Dash congratulated the students and expressed his appreciation for the dedicated efforts of all the hostel staff and teachers of the school behind these achievements.
