Chandan Yatra Begins at Jagannath Dham on Akshaya Tritiya

The deities of Shree Jagannatha Temple are taken out in grand processions for a ceremonial voyage on water at Narendra Pushkarini. Devotees witness the rituals with reverence as the divine idols embark on their symbolic journey.The first 21 days mark the Bahara Chandan Yatra, or the outer phase. During this period, the deities are carried to Narendra Pushkarini for the ceremonial water voyage. The atmosphere resonates with chants, music, and devotion as the rituals unfold.The subsequent 21 days constitute the Bhitara Chandan Yatra, or the inner phase. Rituals are performed inside the temple, continuing the spiritual essence of the festival.
