Bhubaneswar, 30/12 (AO Bureau): Noted Odia Music Director Shantanu Mohapatra breathed his last at a private hospital here on Wednesday. He was 85 years old. He was suffering from acute pneumonia and kidney ailment. His son Kousik Mohapatra informed that he lost his life at 12.30 AM.
He was associated with the Odia music industry for more than 60 years. He had given direction in the songs of many blockbuster Odia movies including Suryamukhi, Arundhati, Chilika Tire, and Dora.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed his grief over the death of the legendary director. He said “His contribution to the music industry will keep him alive in the hearts of millions of music lovers. Odisha has lost one of his greatest sons. May his soul rest in peace,” the CM mentioned through a release.
