Odisha CM inaugurates Annual National Conference of the Indian Academy of Forensic Medicine

Bhubaneswar, 23/1 (AO Bureau): Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the Annual National Conference of the Indian Academy of Forensic Medicine. On this occasion, he extended his greetings to all the delegates from across the country and around the World on this virtual platform.

He said while addressing the events,” The scientific deliberations on issues in Forensic Medicine will throw new lights on emerging techniques, advanced knowledge and newer tools. It will go a long way in enriching your knowledge in the field.

The forensic interpretation of an event, involving the human body, and mind, is a vital component of the criminal justice system. Legal proceedings require evidence to find out the real perpetrators of crime. Here, forensic science comes in handy in providing concrete evidence. Therefore, sophisticated knowledge in forensic science is crucial to the dispensation of justice.

SCB Medical College and Hospital, where this event is taking place, has been the backbone of healthcare in Odisha for almost a century now. This institution has a glorious history of academic excellence. It’s alumni have distinguished themselves in their professional capacities in various institutes of national and international repute. Now, the state government has started the process of transformation of this great institute to a global standard healthcare institute with all the modern amenities.

Odisha is known for its rich cultural heritage. It’s also a great place to unwind and experience the serene beauty of nature. I hope the delegates, who have made it to Odisha, will find time to enjoy the beautiful locales here.
