202 people are missing in Uttarakhand Glacier Burst

Uttarakhand, 8/2 (AO Bureau): 202 people are missing since the Uttarakhand Chamoli Glacier Burst in Chamoli in Uttarakhand on Sunday. While the soldiers of the Army, ITBP, and SDRF teams running the rescue operation have entered Tapovan Tunnel. The state police tweeted on Monday that so far the bodies of 19 people have been recovered from different places. According to the information given by the police, 21 people of Ritwik Company are missing, while 100 people of its associate company have not been found so far. Apart from Ritwik and his associate company, a large number of people of Rishiganga Company are also missing. Along with them, 3 people from the HCC company, 21 people from Om Mattel, and 46 people from Rishiganga are missing. Talking of missing people from villages of Chamoli area, 2 people from Tapovan village, 2 from Ringi village, 2 from Karchau village and 5 from Raini village have been missing since Sunday’s disaster. Uttarakhand Police has appealed to the people to cooperate in this hour of grief and sorrow.

On the other hand, relief and rescue operations are going on at full speed for the second consecutive day. The Indian Air Force has dispatched a second consignment of Mi-17 and Chinook helicopters from Dehradun along with relief and rescue teams. The task force commanders of the Indian Air Force are coordinating with the state administration for relief and rescue operations.
