Ashwin’s 5-fer put India on top

Chennai, 14/2 (AO Bureau); India scored 329 runs against England in the first innings of the second Test. Then India bowled England out for 134 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin took the highest 5 wickets from India. The host Indian team has taken a huge lead of 195 runs by including England cheaply. This huge lead on Chennai’s turning track is going to be decisive. India lost the first Test match of the series. He can come on par in the series by winning the second Test.

The second Test between India and England is being played from Saturday (13) February. India scored 300 runs on 6 wickets on the first day. The Indian team was dismissed on the second day adding 29 runs to their score. Rohit Sharma played superb innings of 161 runs on the first day for India. Rishabh Pant batted well on the second day to bring India to 329 runs. He was dismissed after scoring 58 runs.

After the batsmen from India, the bowlers also performed brilliantly. The result was that England’s second innings was reduced to just 134 runs. Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took the maximum five wickets. Ishant Sharma and Axar Patel took two wickets each while Mohammad Siraj took one wicket.
