Mumbai, 5/3 (AO Bureau):Aparna Purohit, the content head of Amazon Prime Video India’s web series ‘Tandava’, has received a major relief from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has ruled out the possibility of arrest of Aparna Purohit and said that Purohit should not be arrested. The Supreme Court also commented on the Centre’s guidelines brought for the OTT platform during the hearing of the case.
The court said that the rules made by the central government for social media, digital media and OTT platforms are not sufficient and it does not even provide the power of procedure. Let us know that earlier on Friday, while hearing in this case, the Supreme Court had expressed displeasure over the objectionable content being shown on the OTT platform. The court had said that screening is required on OTT platform, sometimes pornography is also shown on this platform.
