IPL 2021: MI to face RCB in Opener

Chennai, 9/4 (AO Bureau)The 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) is starting from Friday i.e. 9th April. The tournament’s opening match will be played between the defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The match will start at 7.30 pm Indian time at the MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk) in Chennai. Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Mumbai Indians have won the IPL title five times so far. At the same time, RCB, captained by Virat Kohli, is waiting for his first title. Due to increasing cases of Coronavirus, the league will be organized in a biologically safe environment and spectators will not be allowed to come to the stadium.

Due to Coronavirus, all the matches of IPL 2021 will be played in only six cities of India – Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. The final match of this tournament will be played on 30 May. This year, no team will get the benefit of their home ground in the tournament. That is, no team will play matches at their home ground.
