At the same time, the court clarified that its automatic cognizance hearing on formulating a national policy for the management of Kovid-19 does not mean suppressing the high court cases.

The bench had said that the High Courts are in a better position to monitor the status of the epidemic within the territorial boundaries and the Supreme Court is playing a complementary role and its ‘intervention should be understood in the right perspective’ as some cases are even beyond the territorial boundaries .
