TMC leader Abhishek Banarjee reaches ED office

New Delhi,6/7: Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee reached the Enforcement Directorate’s office on Monday morning. Abhishek Banerjee said that I was summoned by the investigating agency, so I have come and will cooperate fully with the Enforcement Directorate. In fact, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had summoned Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s nephew and MP Abhishek Banerjee and his wife for questioning in the money laundering case related to the alleged coal scam in West Bengal. However, Abhishek Banerjee’s wife Rujira expressed her inability to appear in connection with the coal theft scam before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in New Delhi on Wednesday, citing the prevailing COVID situation. Along with this, he requested the officials of the agency to come and inquire at his Kolkata residence.

Abhishek Banerjee, MP from Diamond Harbor seat, on the other hand, upset with the ED summons, accused the Narendra Modi-led government of “sabotaging the federal structure” of the country and trying to snatch away the rights of the states. Abhishek Banerjee represents the Diamond Harbor seat in the Lok Sabha and is also the National General Secretary of the Trinamool Congress (TMC). ED officials said Abhishek has been summoned to appear before the investigating officer of the case in Delhi on September 6, while his wife Rujira was served a similar summons under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) on September 1. was asked to appear. Rujira was earlier questioned by the CBI in the case.
