New Delhi, 15/10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate 7 new defense companies to the country on the occasion of Vijayadashami on Friday. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and many representatives of the defense industry will be present in this program. In this program organized by the Ministry of Defense, PM Modi will issue a video message. Apart from this, PM will perform Bhoomi Pujan of Hostel Phase-1 built in Surat, Gujarat through video conferencing. This hostel has been built by Saurashtra Patel Seva Samaj.
According to a release issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, as a measure to increase the country’s self-reliance in the defense sector, the government has decided to convert the Ordnance Factory Board from a government department into seven 100 per cent state-owned corporate companies.
