New Delhi, 12/11: The BCCI suddenly made Rohit Sharma the captain of ODI in place of Virat Kohli. Rohit has also recently taken over the captaincy of the T20 team. The Indian Cricket Board made this information public only by issuing a statement. Since then there has been controversy about it. The fans of veteran and Kohli are not liking this method of BCCI. Now BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has spoken on this whole controversy in a special conversation with Cricket Next. Along with this, it has also been told that why Rohit has been made the captain of ODI by selectors instead of Virat Kohli.
There has been controversy ever since the removal of Virat Kohli from the captaincy of ODIs. Ganguly has already said that BCCI and selectors have taken the decision to make the same captain for T20 and ODI. However, when asked how this decision will prove beneficial for Indian cricket in future? To this Ganguly said, “Like I said… I had personally requested him (Kohli) not to give up the captaincy of the T20 team. Obviously, he felt the workload. All right, he is a great cricketer. He is very serious about his cricket. He has captained for a long time and these things keep happening. Because I too have captained for a long time; So, I know.”
