Will India face COVID-19 fourth wave?

New Delhi, 3/3: There is a decrease in the cases of corona in India. For the last few days, the number of daily cases has come down to less than 10 thousand. Although still the death toll from Corona is being recorded beyond 100 per day. Looking at the decreasing graph of Corona, while some experts are predicting the end of the outbreak of Kovid, some scientists are talking about the fourth wave of Corona coming again on the basis of mathematical models. Some people say that the fourth and fifth waves of corona have come abroad, so here also the next waves of corona will come with some delay but surely. However, in the midst of all this, the scientists of the Indian Council of Medical Research are giving their different opinion.

Dr. Arun Sharma, director of ICMR, Jodhpur-based NIIRNCD (National Institute for Implementation Research on Non-Communicable Diseases) and community medicine specialist, says that there have been three waves of corona in India. At the same time, people are also interested to know about the next wave of Corona. However, according to the changes that have been seen in the form of Corona in the last two years and the way new variants have come, it is difficult to make any accurate prediction about Corona.

Dr. Arun says that at present no new mutation of Corona has come. After Omicron, no new variant has come yet. Apart from this, about 80 percent of the people in India have been fully vaccinated for immunity against Corona. Therefore, until a new variant of Kovid (Corona Variant) does not come, there is no possibility of any big wave. Apart from this, to say only on the basis that the fourth and fifth wave of corona has come abroad, then it will be correct in India too, it will be wrong because the reason for the last wave that has come abroad was Omicron variant, while in India also the third wave This variant has been effective in . Due to this, the corona cases in India reached lakhs, but after this there is no other variant, then there is no possibility of the next wave.

Even if the wave of corona comes, it will not be dangerous

Dr. Sharma says that corona has been such an epidemic that has been changing its form regularly, so it cannot be completely denied that corona will not come again, but it is expected that now if a wave will come, then it may be as dangerous. Not, as seen in the first two waves. In the third wave of corona, it was also seen that the Omicron variant infected a large number of people but it did not have any significant effect on the mortality rate. Apart from this, the number of patients admitted to hospitals in critical condition was also less. This variant got out only by infecting people. The effect of this variant was that if someone in the house got corona and the rest did not have symptoms, then they did not get the Kovid-19 test. Apart from this, they also lived in the same house.
