Government ordered high level inquiry in the missile firing at Pakistan matter: Rajnath Singh

New Delhi, 15/3:Recently, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has given a statement in the Rajya Sabha regarding the incident of a missile firing of India in the border of Pakistan. He has said that the missile fell by mistake and the government has taken the whole matter seriously. Therefore a high level inquiry has been ordered. He said that the reason behind the fall of the missile would be known only after investigation. Let us tell you that Pakistan had demanded a joint investigation in this matter. But India has already rejected it.

 

 

Rajnath Singh said in the House, ‘This incident happened on March 9. During routine maintenance and inspection of the missile unit, a missile accidentally missed at around 7 pm. The exact cause of the incident will be known only after investigation. I would also like to add that the standard operating procedures for operation, maintenance and inspection are also being reviewed in the context of this incident.

 

Rajnath Singh further said, ‘We give top priority to the safety and security of our weapon system. If any deficiency is found in this regard, it will be rectified immediately. I want to assure the House that our missile system is highly reliable and safe. Our security procedures and protocols are of the highest standard.
