New Government may be formed in Goa from March 23-25

Goa, 20/3: The swearing-in ceremony of the new Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Goa is likely to be held from March 23 to 25. Senior party leaders gave this information on Sunday. He told that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior BJP leaders will be present in this program. Goa’s caretaker Chief Minister Pramod Sawant told reporters here that BJP observers would reach the state on Monday, after which the date for the swearing-in ceremony would be finalised.

 

The BJP has emerged as the single largest party by winning 20 of the 40 assembly seats in the state. The BJP has the support of two and three independent MLAs of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP). However, the BJP is yet to stake claim to form the next government.

 

BJP leaders including Sawant and party’s Goa unit president Sadanand Shet Tanawade held a meeting at the party office in Panaji on Sunday. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Tanawade said the date for the swearing-in of the new government would be announced after the arrival of party observers here and the BJP legislature party meeting in Goa.
