Bhubaneswar, 26/3: In a big development, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) candidate Sulochana Das has been elected as Mayor of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Sulochana polled 1,74,562 votes and trounced her nearest rival Suniti Mund of the BJP by a margin of 61,143 votes.
Notably, She is the first woman to be elected as the Mayor of BMC
