Bhubaneswar/Tikiri: Utkal Alumina International limited, a subsidiary of Hindalco Industries limited of Aditya Birla Group is committed towards promotion of local sports and culture in this region. To encourage local talents towards sports, it has organized a Block Level Volly Ball Tournament in association with Jogi Sanyasi Youth Club of Jogiparitunda from 21st March to 24th March 2022.
A total of 16 teams from 15 Mining peripheral villages have participated in this tournament. The tournament was inaugurated by Mr. TapanMahali IIC, Andirakanch Police Station, along with other Community leaders.
The Final match was played between Paikakupakhal and Andirakanch team wherePaikakupakhal team has won the champions trophy and Andirakanch became the runners up.
Mr. S N AlenurDistrict Sports officer, Rayagada graced the Final match as Chief Guest and handed over the winning trophy to the teams. He applauded the effort of Utkal Alumina for promoting local sports in this interior region. He encouraged the players to perform best in their career as sports is now an integral part of human life and has multifarious scope to build a prosperous career.
Such initiatives of Utkal Alumina hascertainly strengthened the relationships between company and the youths as expressed by the spectators. The event was coordinated by the team CSR of Utkal Alumina.
