Bhybaneswar : As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav – to celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence, the Ministry of Power and New &Renewable energy along with Energy Department of Govt of Odisha is organizing ‘Ujjwal Bharat- Ujjwal Bhavishya”‘ festival in Odisha. The Bijli Mahotsavs are being celebrated all over the country under the umbrella of Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya – Power @2047 for more public participation and getting across the developments in the power sector to the citizens at large.
NTPC Limited in collaboration with TPWODL and OPTCL organized Bijli Mahotsav celebrations at Kuchinda, Jharsuguda, Belpahad, Padampur, Bargarh and Sambalpurbetween 27th July 2022 to 30th July 2022 respectively.
To mark the celebration, various programs were organized at to mark the occasion which includeda review of the Ministry of Power’s journey so far, cultural dance forms, Short Films & nukkad natak based on awareness towards public about household electrification, consumer rights and other themesbased on the concept of energy were held.
The grand finale for the Mahotsav was celebrated at Sambalpur on 30th July 2022. This was a national level celebration attended by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, who addressed the participants&beneficiaries from different places of the country and highlighted the key achievements of the Power Sector.
Beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana – Saubhagya,Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY)& Biju Gram Jyoti Yojana from Sambalpur also witnessed the occasion.
