School of Agriculture, GIET University celebrated 5th Commemoration Day

Gunupur:(AO Bureau):- School of Agriculture, GIET university Gunupur  has celebrated its 5th Commemoration Day today in its university campus . On this occasion Prof. Surendranath Pasupalak, former Vice –Chancellor, OUAT was the chief guest and he addressed the gathering. In his speech, he appreciated the greenery of the University, efforts of the faculty members, well-maintained instructional farm and mushroom unit along with that he congratulated students for choosing the course. This speech is followed by the address given by the vice-president Dr. Chandra Dwaj Panda, who emphasised the importance of farmer centric agriculture education and he addressed problems pertaining to agriculture and motivated the students by citing examples regarding hope, faith and patience. Dr. Jagadish Panda, Director General advised the students to focus on research. Prof. S.K.Panda, Dean, School of Agriculture gave presentation about the status and development of the school of Agriculture. Prof. S.S.Mishra, final year students Ashutosh Biswal, Ms.Mahima Tejaswini expressed views about latest trends in agriculture. The alumni Mr. Amartya Narayan Bisi, entrepreneur and Ms.Neha Pattnaik, cross bow gold medallist were felicitated on the occasion. This occasion is graced by Prof. A.B. Srinivasa Rao, Dean, School of Engineering and Technology. The welcome address for this programme has commenced with Prof. K.B.Mohapatra and vote of thanks was proposed by A. K. Mishra, Asst.Dean (Admin.). This commemoration programme concluded with cultural Programmes.
