Chilika
The Chilika Boita Bandana Mahotsav has been held on Monday in the premises of Balugaon College in the coordination of District administration and Chilika Boita Bandana Mahotsav Committee to revive the rich culture,tradition, heritage and beauty of Lake Chilika . In the absence of Committee President MLA Prasant Jagadev, NAC Chairperson Sukanti Paikaray presided over the stage worship in the morning. In the afternoon various cultural programs
were performed by artists from local institutions while a public meeting was held in the evening under the chairmanship of NAC Chairperson. Labour Minister Srikant Sahoo attended the meeting as chief guest while RS MP Munna Khan , Khordha MLA Jyotirindra Nath Mitra, BJD District President Bibhuti Balabantaray, Chilika Organiser Swagatika Jagadev, ZP Vice President Gopinath Moharana, Banpur NAC Chairperson Mitu Nayak and Ollywood actress Elina Samantray were attended as guests of honour. In the evening session, Melody program was organised by Sagar Sangam group of Cuttack. The Mahotsav was attended by thousands of spectators while there was a massive police arrangement has been made under the supervision of Balugaon SDPO Manas Ranajn Barik in terms to maintain law and order.
