Elephant terror in Ranpur again, one dead

Ranpur, 27/05 : This morning, a elephant attack was seen on Mayurajhalia Kamaguru road in Ranpur block. It is known that one person died in the elephant attack. The deceased has been identified as Satya Behera (56) of Natim village of Ranpur block.

 

Satya Behera, Bira Jena, Sauaria Jena, 3 people from Natimi village of Ranpur Block under Narsinghpur Panchayat were going to Kamaguru village on bicycle to dig a well. While riding a bicycle, an elephant suddenly came out of the forest near Kamaguru village. Seeing the elephant, 2 people managed to run away However, but Satya Behera did not go and the elephant beat him there. Satya Behera died on the spot in the elephant attack. Now the dead body is lying on the spot. Till the time of writing the report, no forest department official has visited the spot. As a result, there has been an uproar among the people.

 

Even though such incidents are happening frequently in Ranpur area, it is alleged that no vigilance measures are being taken by the forest department. There have been three incidents of elephant attacks within a month. 2 of those incidents, 2 people died while one is still undergoing treatment in the hospital. A man from Bandapalla village of Mahatapalla panchayat died. A week ago, he was attacked by an elephant in Jharpada village and now he is undergoing treatment in Bhubaneswar hospital. Satya Behera of Natim village died after being attacked by an elephant at Mayurjhalia while going to work. Therefore, the efficiency of the forest department has been raised in general
