Chilika, 14/8: 35-year-old woman was trampled to death by a wild elephant in Mala Punjiama village under Banpur PS limits this morning. The woman was identified as Ranjana Pradhan ,wife of Pandaba Pradhan.
Ranjana was out for defecate this morning, when the incident took place. She tried to escape the attack upon hearing the elephant’s trumpet and ran into a nearby field. The elephant reportedly chased her and killed her. She was rushed to the Banpur medical but succumbed to her injuries.
