Bhubaneswar, 20/9: In a historic move, the Lok Sabha passed the Women’s Reservation Bill on Wednesday with 454 votes in favour of it. Only two votes were against the bill.
The bill provides 33 per cent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. The reservation will come into effect only after the completion of the census and delimitation exercise.
