Chilika, 29/2:’Bahubali’ sitting Chilika MLA of Odisha, Prashant Jagdev joined BJP today. MLA Jagdev joined BJP at the state party office in presence of Odisha BJP co in charge Sushree Lata Usendi.Chilika MLA Prashant Jagdev was expelled by Biju Janata Dal(BJD) for many years. However, as the suspension was not lifted and the elections were approaching, Jagdev joined BJP.
However, there are rumors that he may contest from the Khordha Assembly Constituency. Jagdev has his own strong organisation in entire Khordha district which will help BJP to grow in the district. In the said party joining programme, Bhubaneshwar MP Aparajita Sarangi, Chilika BJP leader Prithiviraj Harichandan were present.
It is learned that ‘Bahubali’ MLA Prashant Jagdev had allegedly rammed his SUV into a crowd injuring more than 20 people including eight policemen near the Banpur block office in Khordha district on March 12, 2022. Following reports of his alleged ‘hooliganism’, the legislator had been suspended by party president Naveen Patnaik.
