PM Modi led committee to select next CBI director

New Delhi, 24/5 (Ao Bureau):The members of the committee headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi are meeting to select the next director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (Central Bureau of Investigation). Apart from the Prime Minister in this committee, Leader of Opposition Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary and Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramana are also included. The names of senior IPS officers of the country are being considered for this post of CBI chief. This post has been vacant since February and the names of many officials are included in the race for this post.

Discussion on the names of these officers

Most of the officers whose name is running in the race of CBI Director are IPS officers of DG and DGP rank. The names of the 6 officers whose names are fast, are as follows-

1. Rakesh Asthana (BSF, DG)
2. Yogesh Chandra Modi (NIA, DG)

3. Subodh Kumar Jaiswal (CISF, DG)

4. Loknath Behera (Keral, DGP)

 

5. SS Deswal (ITBP, DG)

6. HC Awasthi – (UP, DGP)

Apart from these, the name of Delhi Police Commissioner SN Srivastava is also included in the qualified candidates for the post of Director of CBI. The names of the IPS officers of the 1984 to 1987 batch are being considered for the selection of the CBI Director. Although there are names of about 100 IPS officers in this range, but some important names are being considered.
