Brazil President asks PM Modi for 2 million Coronavirus vaccine

New Delhi, 10/1 (AO Bureau ) In a major development, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking two million Coronavirus Vaccine for urgent use. Bolsonaro has asked for Covishield manufactured by Serum Institute of India.

In the letter, Jair Bolsonaro wrote, “I would appreciate being able to count on Your Excellency’s good offices to anticipate the supply to Brazil, with the possible urgency and without jeopardizing the Indian vaccination program, of 2 million doses of the immunizer produced by the Serum Institute of India.”

Bolsonaro said, “Brazil has launched its national immunization program against coronavirus. Among the vaccines selected by the Brazilian government, are those from the Indian company Bharat Biotech International Limited (Covaxin) and AstraZeneca and University of Oxford (Covishield), produced by the Serum Institute of India.”
