Anand Sharma criticized the Congress’s tie-up with the Indian Secular Front (ISF)

New Delhi, 2/3 (AO Bureau):Senior Congress leader Anand Sharma criticized the party’s tie-up with the Indian Secular Front (ISF) led by Muslim religious leader Abbas Siddiqui in West Bengal on Monday, saying that it was the party’s core ideology and Gandhian and Nehruvian is against secularism. Sharma said that the party cannot be selective in the fight against ‘communalism’. We have to fight against all forms of communalism. ”In response, Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, president of the Bengal unit of Congress, has also replied to Sharma.

Former Union Minister Sharma is among the 23 party leaders who wrote a letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi, demanding an organizational change in the party. Sharma said that the issue of ‘alliance’ should have been discussed with a radical party like ISF and it should have been approved by the Congress Working Committee (CWC).

Anand Sharma said on Twitter, “Congress’s alliance with ISF and other such parties is against the party’s core ideology, Gandhism, and Nehruvian secularism … These issues need to be approved by the Congress Working Committee.” Asked for clarification from West Bengal Congress chief Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary to attend the joint rally in where ISF leaders were present. He alleged that his presence and support were  ‘painful and embarrassing.
Rajya Sabha MP Sharma said, ‘Congress cannot be selective in the fight against communalism. We have to fight against all forms of communalism. The presence and support of the West Bengal Pradesh Congress president are shameful, he should clarify his stand. ‘
