Bhubaneswar, 8/3 (AO bureau): The state cabinet has approved the new department in the name of Mission Shakti. The Mission Shakti Department will be operational from today on the occasion of International Women’s Day. This was announced by Minister Tukuni Sahu at a BJD women’s rally.
The Mission Energy Department will operate exclusively in the state from today. Minister Tukuni Sahu will be in charge of the Mission Shakti Department. The secretary in the department will also be Sujata Karthikeyan, the first female IAS officer in the Odisha cadre. Mission Shakti, however, is empowering 4 million SHG members.
